How to Style Your Blooms

Here's our handy-how-to guide to help you style your Poppily bouquet for maximum ooooooooh's at home...

1. Choose the perfect Vase

Choose an opaque vase or jug around 18-23cm tall & your Poppily blooms will peep perfectly at the top. For just a few stems something milk-bottle-esque with a narrow neck works great. For bigger bunches you’ll need something with a slightly wider neck to give your blooms space to splay out gracefully.

2. Add dry sand (or rice!)

Your vase should be 3/4 filled with dry sand or even rice! This will provide a sturdy base to hold each bloom in position & create your arrangement.

3. Arrange the wooden stems

One by one push the wooden stems firmly into the dry sand. We like to start with the tallest blooms at the back and work forwards so that shorter blooms sit towards the front and sides and hide the stems of the taller blooms behind.

4. Add greenery

Foliage and wire stem blooms can be bent to shape to suit. Adding these last lets you fill any gaps and add extra shape to your arrangement. With larger bunches there's a small flower with a hooked stem. This is designed to sit over the front edge of the vase.

NOTE: Don't remove any stickers on these wire stems, they're there to act as a little rudder in the rice... keeping your blooms facing the right direction and stopping them twirling round.

5. Enjoy

Voila! No water to change or stems to trim, your blooms will look lovely longterm. To ensure they stay vibrant for as long as possible keep them away from direct sunlight and moisture.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I care for my Poppily flowers?

They are very low maintenance! You can flick a dry duster over them or use the brush part of a vac every now and again. Just keep your flowers away from moisture and direct sunlight to ensure they stay vibrant.

Can I use any vase?

As the lengths of poppily flowers are fixed heights and not trimmable like fresh flowers you need a suitable sized vase. We recommend a medium vase or jug around 18-23cm tall.

Similarly to fresh flowers, depending on how many stems you're displaying will determine how wide the neck of the vase should be. Too narrow your flowers won't splay out nicely and too wide they'll flop to the sides.
