Bringing nature into your home shouldn't come at the cost of the planet. I’m committed to making responsible choices across every stage of the process - from certified timber and low-VOC finishes to plastic-free packaging. Here’s exactly how Poppily is built, and where I’m continuing to improve.
The Wood
Timber is the heart of what I do, so knowing its exact origin matters. All Poppily pieces are crafted using FSC-certified maple and poplar, ensuring the wood comes from responsibly managed forests that preserve biodiversity. For stems, I use fast-growing, highly renewable bamboo. I will only ever source timber that meets high environmental standards.
100% Plastic-Free Unboxing
Your order arrives safely protected without a single scrap of plastic padding or bubble wrap. Our signature collection pieces ship in custom-designed, FSC-certified boxes (70% recycled content) with a built-in stem holder that locks your artwork safely in place. For our other designs, we source recycled, FSC-certified off-the-shelf boxes. Finished with 100% recycled tissue paper throughout, every bit of your packaging can be popped straight into your household recycling.
Thoughtful Paints & Finishes
I aim for the cleanest options that still deliver rich color and long-lasting durability. That means using low-VOC paints, water-based varnish, and natural wax blends wherever possible. Where a traditional finish or solvent-based wax is needed to give an art object the performance, depth, or protection it deserves, I choose carefully, balancing indoor air quality with making a piece that stays beautiful for decades.
Locally Made. Small Batches.
Every single piece is designed, cut, turned, and hand-assembled by me in my Cheshire studio. Small-batch production means zero overproduction, minimal workshop waste, and complete oversight of every material used from start to finish.
A tree planted for every order
To help rebuild forests and offset carbon, a tree is funded through Ecologi for every single item purchased. It’s a simple commitment that adds up to meaningful impact over time.
