We use the highest quality materials from eco-friendly sources wherever possible so that you can smile that little bit wider when admiring your Poppily blooms. We're always working on ways to improve our eco-credentials without compromising on quality.
Here's what we do so far...
Responsibly Sourced Materials
Forests for all forever. We're proud that Poppily flowers are made from responsibly sourced European Maple with the FSC certification. Our foliage and other small wooden elements like the Lupin are also made from responsibly sourced birch plywood with the PEFC certification.
Non-Toxic Finishes
We're very happy that the primer, coloured paints, varnish & wood glue used in our workshop are all premium, non-toxic with zero solvents (VOC's). Most paints contain solvents which are highly polluting, they contribute to climate change and are most of the time unnecessary. We've trialed soooo many kind-to-the planet finish options to find something that's environmentally a better choice whilst still giving that perfect colour and shine.
Plastic Free Packaging
Our packaging has been engineered for doorstep delight, as well as environmental impact. It's plastic free & fully recyclable. The wrap style bouquet box is made from 70% FSC mix cardboard (with a built in stem gripper to reduce the need for other padding materials). The kraft tissue paper & greeting card are made from FSC certified recycled paper.
Responsible Tree Planting
We strive to offset our environmental footprint by supporting responsible tree planting in collaboration with our partner, Ecologi. With each order made on the Poppily website, we contribute to the planting of a tree through Ecologi's worldwide replantation projects.
